A striking design man’s vintage 14K YG Lord Elgin circa 1950’s. This is an unusual oversized model measuring 23mm at its widest point and 36mm top to bottom. Featuring a modernist slab design with large angular hooded lugs that peak in the center. Featuring a lovely silver satin dial with applied gold indexes and tapered sword hands, and fitted with the proper faceted mineral crystal that mimics the peaked design of the lugs.
The case of the watch is in fine condition. The edges of the case are sharp and retain their original frosty finish, while the large surface of the lugs show some light wear. The case back is free of any personalized engraving. The winding crown is oversize and unusually flat, and not rounded, complementing the geometric case design.
This fine watch is powered by a 21 jewel caliber 626 movement with subsidiary seconds. The movement has been recently serviced and is being offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
The watch is shown with its original little worn Elgin signed crocodile strap and distinctive Elgin signed 14K gold tang buckle. Due to the age of the strap, it is recommended to set this strap to the side and wear the watch with a new, more 19mm supple strap.
Your purchase of this remarkable mid century design watch includes our signature fine leather watch pouch, ideal for travel and storage, a $65.00 value.
NOTE: The peaked crystal causes some distortion when viewing the face. The dial correctly reads Lord Elgin, not Lord E Elgin, as the primary photo might suggest!
