Zenith SubSea A3630 Automatic Diver circa 1969

A fine and rare example vintage automatic Zenith A3630 SubSea diver circa 1969. A rare dive watch offering from the brand usually known for racing chronographs. Featuring a substantial 38mm diameter stainless steel case, with multifaceted long lugs and oversized crown. The original matte black dial is surrounded by on off white minute track, features applied metal hour markers, and shows off the date at the unusual location of 4:30. With great looking faded (ghost) elapsed time bezel, highlighting the original nicely aged pearl. This example is further distinguished by the original oversize hands with distinctive arrow minute hand and rectangular lume sweep second hand. In our research, the few examples we found of this model, most had the later, and less remarkable match stick style hands.

The A3760 is found with a number of different calibers, with this one being powered by the 23 jewel automatic wind Zenith caliber 2552PC movement. Screw down caseback bears large deeply engraved Zenith star logo. This offering is further distinguished by the original Zenith stamped Gay Fréres ladder bracelet, dated 2nd quarter of 1969.

Recently serviced by one of our veteran watchmakers and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation. The watch and bracelet were left unpolished, as found. In our opinion a very desirable, scarce diver’s model from this popular brand.

Accompanying your purchase is one of our beautiful handmade Italian leather watch travel pouches, a $55 value!
