Tudor 18K YG Oyster Prince ref 7809 circa 1957. Featuring a 34mm diameter Oyster case with original antique white dial with gold raised triangular shaped indexes, printed Tudor flower logo, and tapered dauphine hands. Dial signed Tudor Oyster Prince, Rotor Self Winding, and signed SWISS. Powered by self winding Rolex based caliber 390 movement with sweep seconds.
An unusal 18K gold model with original dial, period gold screw down crown, and powered by the same base Rolex 390 movement as the Tudor early reference 7928 Submariner.
NOTE: while the dial is signed SWISS, designating the use of radium as the luminous material, and the luminous dots on the dial are entirely original, the dial does not register radium when tested with a geiger counter. Presumably, the luminous material is tritium, even though the production date of the watch corresponds with the use of radium.
