Rolex Oyster “Lifesaver” ref 2849 circa 1939

Scarce early 1930’s era man’s stainless steel ref #2849 Rolex “Lifeguard” model. Featuring a 32.5 diameter Oyster case with wide stepped bezel, original patina’d 2 tone sector dial with luminous figures and matching luminous pencil style hands, and with early Oyster screw down crown. Powered by 17 jewel manual wind 8 3/4 caliber movement with subsidiary seconds. Serial # 87418 dates this model to 1939/1940. Uses 14mm open end strap to accommodate fixed wire lugs.

Recently serviced and offered with our 1 year warrantee of accurate timekeeping and operation.

Note: This scarce model nicknamed for its resemblance to a lifesaving buoy. Perhaps one of the few examples of this scarce model we have ever had the pleasure to offer. Medium size case, for a man’s wrist, but narrow 14mm strap make this better suited for a woman’s wrist.
