A fine condition and rare Rolex 14K yellow gold Oyster Perpetual “Hooded” bubbleback ref 3065 circa 1940’s. Featuring a 32mm diameter tonneau shaped 3 piece case with screw down smooth bezel, screw down case back, and screw down period gold Oyster Patent crown. With an original patina’d egg shell white dial with raised gold tapered indexes with radium luminous inserts and with original tapered dauphine hands.
Powered by self winding Rolex N/A movement with sweep seconds. Fully serviced and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation. Offered with your choice of 17mm sport leather or dressy exotic skin strap.
The hooded bubblebacks are among the scarcest and most desirable of the 1940’s era bubbleback variations. Their popularity lead to enterprising individuals modifying the standard bubbleback by adding gold hoods to the cases. The case back reference # of 3065, and the extended tear drop shape of the lugs when viewed from the side confirm the originality and authenticity of this example.
