Rolex Early Datejust SS/14K WG ref 6605 Roulette Wheel circa 1959

A rare and fine condition example early Rolex Datejust model ref 6605 circa 1959. Featuring a 36mm diameter case with 14K WG “milled” bezel,  domed acrylic crystal, and great looking original dial. This fine exmple features warmly patina’d original dial, dagger shaped indexes, tapered alpha hands and original alternating red and black “roulette” date wheel. The lume plots and hands alre unretouched and original.

The case back bears the date code of IV/58 which corresponds to the 4th quarter of 1958. The watch is complete with a excellent condition riveted link C & I stretch Oyster bracelet with date code for 1965.

Powered by self winding chronometer rated 25 jewel calibre 1065 self winding movement with sweep seconds and date. Recently serviced and in excellent operating condition.

The case, bezel, and bracelet are all in excellent condition, and the characteristics of this model all reflect the DNA of the earliest date models including the pre 1601 reference #, the finely milled 14K WG bezel, the red and black roulette date wheel, the tapered dagger style dial indexes, tapered hands, and the use of the caliber 1065 butterfly movement.
