Rolex Deepsea D-Blue Dial Box & Papers circa 2014 Unworn B & P
Rolex Deepsea D-Blue Dial, ref # 166600 circa 2014 unworn with box and papers. With a large 44mm Oyster case, thick sapphire crystal and black Cerachrom unidirectional elasped time bezel, this gorgeous modern Rolex was built to commemorate a ver special underwater expedition. The world renowned filmmaker James Cameron’s solo decent to the Marianas Trench in 2012 was not only a massive milestone for exploration and oceanic science, but it was also a huge leap for a little watch company named Rolex. Attached to an arm of Cameron’s submersible was a special built Rolex called the Deepsea Challenge, which made the nearly 11,000 meter deep dive with him. Two years later Rolex released the Deepsea with a D-Blue dial to celebrate the achievement. The dial fades from blue to black to mimic the depths of the ocean, where once deep enough no light can shine and all is black. The stainless steel Oyster bracelet is in 904L steel as is the case, and comes with the beautifully engineered buckle with Glidelock extension. The watch features the most iconic attribute of the classic Seadweller, the helium escape valve, while also wearing something brand new in the solid Grade 5 titanium caseback.
Even after only 4 years, the Deepsea Blue is a certified modern classic. The watch is unworn and is accompanied by its original box and papers, and is still under warranty in the U.S. through 10/30/2019.
