A fine condition example Rolex stainless steel Datejust ref #16014 with blue Buckley dial circa 1987. Featuring a 36mm diameter case with 18K white gold fluted bezel and acrylic crystal. With deep blue and evenly aged original Buckley dial with white printed Roman figures and warmly patina’d lume plots.
Powered by self winding calibre 3035 movement with sweep seconds and quick set date. With Rolex stainless steel D-link Jubilee bracelet with deployment clasp.
Buckley dials are a bit of a phenomenon, named by and for East Coast dealer John Buckley, which have garnered great interest in the collecting community. Blue dials, particularly in steel models are quite scarce, and very desirable. The currrent dial is in great condition with the blue an especially pleasing evenly aged tone.
