A stunning condition and great looking early Rolex Datejust ref# 1601 circa 1960. Featuring a 36mm diameter case with early finely milled 14K WG bezel, and original early matte silver pie pan dial with small font dial printing and with fine marquise shaped hour indexes and tapered alpha style hands. The original matte silver dial has survived beautifully 65 years later and is in unusually fine condition. The dial is signed SWISS and retains the original now darkened lume plots adjacent to each hour index. The hands are the original tapered dauphine hands with matching aged luminous and free of corrosion common on these older models. The fine milled 14K WG bezel is unusually sharp and not worn or polished down. The case back is dated 3/60 for the 1st quarter of 1960.
Powered by self winding caliber 1560 movement with sweep seconds and non quick set date. Recently fully serviced and fitted with a non cyclops crystal to emphasize the subtle design features of this early model and for a clean vintage look.
The watch comes with its original Swiss made rolled link Jubilee bracelet with correct early style clasp and 1960 date code.
Your purchase includes our signature fine leather watch pouch, ideal for travel and storage, a $65 retail value.
