Rodania Swiss made “Waterman” super compressor diver’s model circa 1960’s. Featuring a 36mm x 42mm case with screw down case back and perimeter rotating elapsed time bezel. Featuring a dramatic dark gray dial with oversized rectangular hour indexes with metal surrounds which have aged to a warm wheat color. With wide broad arrow matching luminous hour and minute hand. The dial reads Rodania “Waterman” Automatic 25 jewels. With original cross hatched crowns, the bottom to manually wind and set the time, and the upper crown to set the inner elapsed time bezel. Oddly, the elapsed time bezel lacks any numbers, only a wide marker designation the 12 o’clock position, and simple narrow markers for the 5 minute designations.

Powered by self winding movement with sweep seconds and date. Case back shows considerable wear but the following can still be made out on the case back, “Stainless Steel Super Waterproof Swiss Made 1875H.  Fully serviced and offered with our 1 year warranty. Offered on your choice of sporty leather, rubber, or NATO style strap. Great looking vintage diver’s model.

Super Compressor models like the current model were designed as professional diver’s watches, were offered by dozens of companies, with a variety of dial configurations and pallets, but all with case built by E. Piquerez S.A. (EPSA) who supplied the cases to a myriad of companies. The most well known, and most valuable were those of  Longines and  Lecoultre, All the Super Compressors are cool looking sporty models. We haven’t met a Super Compressor yet that we didn’t like!
