Omega Civilian version of “US Army” ref# 2179/5 circa 1940’s

An exceptional example of the very popular case back ref# 2179/3 Omega manual wind civilian version of popular military model circa 1940s. Featuring a robust 34 x 42mm case with screw down caseback  and a beautiful matte silver original dial with “wrapping” luminous arabic figures, finely printed 1/5th of a second minute track, and original matching luminous pencil style hands. The dial has aged beautifully with warm even tones throughout this beautiful dial.

Powered by 16 jewel manual wind caliber 30 T2 SC movement with sweep seconds. The movement is remarkably bright and fresh looking, particularly considering the age of the watch. Overall an exceptionally beautiful and well preserved example of this popular model
