Lucien Piccard 14K YG Lapis & Tiger’s Eye circa 1960’s

Stunning and stylish mid century design Lucien Piccard 14K YG manual wind dress model. Featuring a distinctive mint condition 31 X 30mm square case with fine wide, stepped and sloped bezel, and remarkable checkerboard pattern dial with center Lapis Lazuli and outer Tiger’s Eye stone tiles. With gilt tapered hands that contrast sharply against the darker stone background. With offset brand signature at the lower right rather than the more typical center location. Powered by 17 jewel manual wind movement with no seconds for a clean and dressy look. With recessed crown to complete the very tailored styling of this popular mid century designer piece.

We have seen and owned this model only once before. The current example is in truly pristine condition and appears to be little worn if at all. Free of any caseback personalized engraving. With fine dressy strap.

Lucien Piccard company was founded in 1923 in Switzerland and has been producing both inexpensive and precious metal jewelry and watches since then. In the 1960’s, Lucien Piccard was a well known “department store” designer brand, (in my Bar Mitzvah circles) known for fashionable, modernist design cufflinks, tie bars, and money clips. Many of their trade mark designs included calibrated synthetic ruby and sapphires stone set around the perimeter of their pieces. While LP is not a prestige brand in the world of collectible vintage watches, we consider the current example, particularly in such pristine condition, a treasure from this brand!

Just serviced and offered with our 1 year warrantee of accurate time keeping and operation.
