VINTAGE WATCHES, PRE-OWNED & USED SWISS, AMERICAN WATCHES & JEWELRY

Glycine Airman 24 Hour Automatic circa late 1960’s

SOLD

A very clean example vintage Glycine stainless steel Airman automatic circa late 1960’s. A very popular model aviator’s model for GI’s during the Vietnam war era. Featuring a large 36 x 46mm heavy snap back case with wide rotating 24 hour bezel secured with 2ndary crown. Featuring a very minty original black dial with 24 hour military time track, date window at 6 o’clock and signed T SWISS T. Powered by A. Schild self winding caliber 1700/01 movement with sweep seconds and date. With original cross hatched winding and setting crown.

Additionally this model features the hack feature, using a tiny wire that protrudes through a small hole in the dial between the 2 and 4 of the number 24. When the crown is pulled out, a lever forces the wire through the hole, and the wire stops the sweep second hand from advancing. The hack function is used to synchronize timing to the exact second. Offered on your choice of leather or sporty style strap. Guaranteed genuine, just serviced by one of our veteran watchmakers and offered with a 1 year warranty of accurate timekeeping and operation.
