Cartier Tank Man’s “Palissandre de Rio” ref 2512 Rosewood Case circa 1970’s

A rare Cartier man’s Tank circa 1970’s ref 2512 with Brazilian rosewood dial and side case panels. Featuring a 25.3 x 33.9 man’s gold plated case with full Cartier signature and numbers on caseback. Featuring a dark brwon rosewood dial with applied gold Roman indexes and gilt epée hands. Powered by 17 jewel manual wind movement.

An exceptional  condition example with original fully intact gold plating, sharp and clear case back engraving, original knurled crown with cabachon, and completed with an unsigned strap and Cartier plaque buckler

Our research informs us that this was a one year only model circa 1975/76 produced in a man’s and lady’s size, with a gold plated case, mechanical manual wind movement, that predated the Tank Must models. The model is referred to as part of the “tank organic” series of watches that predated the Cartier Must de Tank models. The wood panels and dial are in excellent condition, the gold plating is original and not replated.
