A “Klassic” from this innovative architect and industrial designer.
Alain Silverstein a French architect and industrial designer burst onto the luxury watch scene in the late 1980’s with whimsical graphic design and bold colors and shapes. He made wearing luxury watches playful and fun, and this writer, an enthusiast and early authorized dealer for the brand, credit Alain Silverstein with promoting and advancing the wearing of watches as fun. While not everyone is a fan of his somewhat comical approach, there is no questions that in the decades that have followed, watches as objets d’art, individuality, and prestige, has certainly not diminished, and I think we owe this phenomenon in no small part to these eccentric designs!
