US Military issue Hamilton man’s wristwatch featuring 34 X 41mm non reflective brushed finish base metal case with screw down case back,  acrylic crystal, and original matte black dial with 24 hour indexes and oversize luminous hour indexes, luminous hands and arrow tipped sweep seconds hand. Powered by 7 jewel manual wind calibre 466 Standard Time Corp (S.T. Co.) non hacking movement. Caseback dated December 1981. With fixed lugs that take 18mm NATO style strap.

A pristine condition example recently fully serviced and in excellent operating condition. With nicely patina’d oversized luminous plots, fully intact luminous wide luminous hands, and without any damage, chipping, nicks or other detractions from the great condition and eye appeal of this piece. Purchased from original owner who reportedly served with the 3rd infantry division in Germany from 1981 to 1984.

As non military experts, we were intrigued by the H3 and radioactive symbol printed on the dial.
According to our reading, the H3 is an alternative designation to T SWISS T for the low radioactive luminous material tritium. H2 is regular hydrogen, and H3 is a hydrogren isotope. While Britian used the letter T in a circle to designate the use of tritium on their military issue watches, the H designation was used in other European countries. The H3 designation is probably best known on the Heuer Bundeswehr models where it is printed in bold red. See photo.
