A scarce and compelling 1960’s Seaboard Yacht chronograph. A little known and rarely encounter vintage yachting chronograph in superb condition and with great eye appeal. Our research informs us that there are four different variants of the watch with “Seaboard Yacht” designation on the dial, and another three variants bearing other brand names.
The current example offered here is the second version, and in our opinion by far the best looking version, with a gorgeous all original cream white dial, steel baton hands, and a bright red chronograph hand. The stainless steel case measures a substantial 37mm, wearing extremely well for a vintage lover of today. The dial has two subdials in the very cool “Big Eye” configuration of Universal Geneve fame with the running seconds at 9 o’clock, and at 3 o’clock is a colorful red, white, and blue crosshatched 10 minute chronograph counter with distinctive graphics.
The watch features pump pushers, a screw down caseback, and sturdy down turned lugs, and is powered by the manual wind Landeron 248 caliber. This Seaboard Yacht epitomizes all that is vintage chronographs, and is guaranteed to get some serious wrist time.
Recently acquired from a collection, in good working condition, but not serviced by us. Shown on a fine red leather, or your choice of alternative sporty strap.
