A fine example Rolex Cellini 18K YG manual wind dress model ref# 4012 circa 1970s. Featuring a rectangular 26 x 32mm case with distinctive deeply ribbed bezel and an attractive metallic burnt umber (think dark orange) dial. The dial is simply signed Rolex Cellini with applied Rolex logo, without hour indexes and with simple gilt baton hands.
Powered by 19 jewel manual wind caliber 1600 movement. With signed Rolex logo crown and fitted with its original 20mm brown lizard Rolex signed strap with plaque Rolex buckle.
In excellent operating condition, of course guaranteed genuine, and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
There are several variations of this basic case design, including smooth or cross hatched case decoration. We think the deep sculpted rib pattern of this current especially fine condition example is the “pick of the litter” among the variations. The dark orange metallic dial is well preserved and in fine unrestored condition. The combination of the case design, the especially fine case condition, and the atypical color make this dress model a great retro standout.
This model is sometimes attributed to the King Midas series. It is of the same era as the King Midas, and while this era of design has shown substantial increase in demand and price recently, they have not attained the extraordinary pricing of the King Midas models.
