Rolex Submariner ref# 1680 Service History circa 1979

Very nice condition example vintage Rolex Submariner ref 1680 serial #5.8 million circa 1979. A very pleasing vintage date Submariner model with an illustrious history and an impressive recent service history by highly regarded Bob Ridley.

Featuring thick and beefy lugs, acrylic crystal, a nicely aged bi-directional elapsed time bezel and very pleasing matte black dial with untouched ivory tritium hour markers and matching luminous hands. The 1680 is powered by caliber 1570 chronometer rated self winding movement with sweep seconds and date. With Rolex stainless steel ref 93150 heavy Oyster bracelet with flip lock clasp and 580 end pieces.

In fine operating condition, includes detailed repair history from the highly respected Bob Ridley. Of course guaranteed genuine and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.

Provenance. This watch has changed hands several times, each time by a highly regarded dealer of vintage Rolex watches. The watch was sold by Jack Road of Tokyo, Japan in 2020 and a full set of receipts are included documenting that sale. There may have been a later sale by Amsterdam Watch which we cannot confirm, but their box is included but no paperwork. it was then serviced at considerable expense in 2024 by Phillip Ridley, of Ridley Watchmakers, paper work enclosed, showing  extensive service including a new tube and crown, but no change of dial, hands, bezel insert, or pearl. We are pleased to now be offering this fine example on behalf of the current owner.
