A remarkable vintage Rolex Datejust ref 1601 with richly patina’d dial circa 1963. This is the full size man’s 36mm diameter case with 14K white gold fluted bezel and acrylic crystal with a richly patina’d “straw” color tropical dial. The original silver satin pie pan dial has turned naturally a warm and gentle golden hue which makes this example both beautiful and unique. This is furthermore an early example SWISS only signed dial aged tritium lume plots, small font printing, door stop dial markers, and tapered dauphine hands.
Powered by Rolex caliber 1560 self winding movement with sweep seconds and non quick set date. With original period rolled link jubilee bracelet with deployment clasp with matching date code of 1965. A great looking, distinctive early Datejust model with a lot of impact!
