Featuring a 34mm diameter Oyster case with screw down crown and screw down case back. The ref 1002 versus the similar no date ref 5500 Airking model is distinguished by the higher grade caliber 1570 chronometer rated movement and the accompanying designation on the dial “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified,” This example further sports a desirable blue radial dial with longer minute indexes that extend further into the center of the dial. This is a scarce and popular variation, all the more so on a blue original dial. As is common with blue dials there is some loss of paint by the markers and imperfect, but untouched tritium lume plots.
