An odd and interesting Sean Connery as James Bond Agent 007 tribute watch circa 1966. This was quite an unexpected find of an obscure model we had never seen before. Moeris, was a Swiss brand with origins back to 1893 which later evolved into Blancpain/Rayville, then eventually Tissot and Omega. According to an GrailWatch.com, this model was a licensed design to capitalize on the popularity of the James Bond films and were produced in man’s and lady’s sizes in steel as well as gold plated models.

Featuring a finely brushed finish stainless steel large 33.5 x 42mm cushion shaped case with modernist angled and beveled corners. With original matte silver dial with “James Bond OO7” printed on the dial, with contrasting red arrow tipped sweep seconds hand and as a further nod to 007, the number 7 on the dial set off with a red elongated minutes index. An image of Sean Connery as Agent 007 is die struck on the heavy screw down case back, and even the square sided setting crown is engraved 007!

Powered by FM 818 25 jewel self winding movement with sweep seconds and date, and fitted with a very “cool” looking period stainless steel bracelet composed of curved hinged panels with large “cooling” ports. The bracelet is marked stainless steel but is otherwise unsigned.
