For those not familiar, Hamilton was the premier American manufacturer of wristwatches in the 1940’s through the 1960’s. Located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, they used high quality cases and produced high grade movements for their watches. Dials as the current example were sterling silver, not brass, and the applied indexes on the dials are 18K, not gold plated. While gold filled cases tend to wear and show “brassing” on the high points of the corners of the bezel by the lugs as well as the high areas of the case back, this example is in especially nice condition, a great looking, and particularly well preserved example. Kreisler, was a U.S. manufacturer of high quality metal stretch and link bracelets during this era. The brick style gold filled bracelet is similarly unusually well preserved.
