Offering a fine example of the now discontinued example of the first ceramic bezel Rolex model, the GMT-Master II ref 116710LN. Featuring a 40mm diameter thick new style Oyster case with ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal. Featuring a glossy black dial with maxi luminova indexes and hands. Powered by self winding calibre 3165 movement, with green 24 hour hand and independently set hour hand. Z9 serial # corresponds to production year of 2007.

Fitted with its original Rolex brushed and high polish heavy Oyster link bracelet with solid end links and heavy deployment clasp. Accompanied by Rolex box and booklets, chronometer tag, leather portfolio, but without the original Rolex warranty papers. Previously polished excellent condition case and bracelet.

This model was the very first of the ceramic bezel sport models. Now, all sport models (with the exception of the smooth bezel Explorer 1) are produced with the ceramic (cerachrome) bezel rather than the earlier anodized aluminum insert. This model was modest in its color scheme, especially when compared with the 2 color black and blue ceramic bezel Batman model, or the red and blue ceramic bezel Pepsi model. The current model features an all black 24 hour bezel, and an all black dial, with the only dash of color the 24 hour hand now green, versus the red color of the prior 50+ years.

Like so many Rolex sports models, hot when first introduced, then falling out of favor as newer models assume the lime light, and then once discontinued, experience another spike in interest and popularity.
The current example in excellent condition, complete with box and booklets, is an excellent choice for daily wear and perhaps for long term price appreciation.
