Scarce and beautiful example Zodiac stainless steel Seawolf ref #1781W “Orange Blaze” circa 1960’s. Striking looking 35.5 x 42mm example with rotating gray bakelite bezel with orange hour markers, acrylic crystal, and with gloss black dial with bright fluorescent orange outer track and luminous frames. With distinctive matchstick style black hour, and with Zodiac logo crown. The original gloss black dial had turned a very pleasing “dark chocolate” tone. First one of these we have seen with what would be properly called a “tropical” dial.
In great overall condition, with previously polished case, gray bakelite bezel without cracks or damage, super clean original dial now turned dark chocolate, and with original tritium lume showing some erosion, and with full Champion J & B brand heavy link bracelet with Zodiac logo clasp.
Powered by self winding calibre 72B movement with sweep seconds and date.A great looking sport model with rich and vibrant colors, and it doesn’t have to be Halloween to wear this beauty!
