The case back bears an engraving that we find quite charming and romantic. The engraving reads, “To my Honey, on our 15^th Anniversary, Jan 30, 1949” We find the informal language to be unusual for the era. Additionally the engraving is quite sharp and fresh looking and not worn or polished smooth. According to our math, Honey and the giver were married in 1934 likely in their early 20’s, which would place their birth year in the mid 1920’s.
