A vintage Tudor Submariner ref 7928 case serial # 595,xxx circa 1967 with grand slam and World Series provenance. Baseball fan? Washington National fan? The offered gilt dial Tudor submariner is from the collection of Howie Kendricks, whose game winning grand slam homer in the 10th inning of game 5 of the 2019 National League playoffs against the top seeded LA Dodgers sent the Washington Nationals into the playoffs and then on to the World Series, where they defeated the favored Houston Astros.

And now for the watch! A ref 7928 Tudor Submariner with gilt printing, patina’d luminous indexes and matching hands, and with bi-directional elapsed time bezel. Powered by self winding Rolex based caliber 390 movement with sweep seconds. With original Rolex twin lock crown.

The case of the watch appears to be unpolished with fine light abrasions to the surface throughout and without evidence of polishing. The case back is clean, the threads are not chewed up and the case is free of corrosion. The case serial # and ref # are all intact and readable.

With a very clean and even T SWISS T signed matte gilt dial with a fine shimmer to the surface when moved in the light. With original aged luminous plots and hands. Each lume plot shows some darkness or aging, which is uniform across all the plots and has been neither cleaned nor altered. The hands similarly appear original with some discoloration noted of the original lume. We have selected a strap that we think complements the dial and the lume. You might think of the character of the lume as you would a well loved old base ball glove!
