Fabulous oversize Swiss made coach watch circa 1900 with 55 mm diameter gun metal case with contrasting gold bezel and with beautiful condition original enamel dial with indications for month, day, and date, and phases of the moon. An unsigned Swiss made 15 jewel watch, with full calendar and moon phase indications. With oversize gilt onion style crown, oversize bow and pristine condition complicated movement. Just fully serviced and in excellent operating condition.

This model is a stem wind, but pin set. The movement is wound as usual from the crown, but to set the watch, the small protected pin on the side of the case is depressed to unlock the setting function and the hands can then be set.

Too large to carry in a pocket, so called “coach watches” like this were used as public time keepers on coaches, or displayed in other public areas.
