A fabulous looking early vintage Rolex Submariner ref# 16800 transitional model 8.2 million serial # circa 1983 with tropical patina’d lume dial, heavily patina’d hands, and brown color change elapsed time bezel with heavily patina’d pearl. This is an especially great looking model with an intense tropical look. With beefy lug, unpolished case showing some surface scratches and minor dings expected from a 30+ year old, well loved tool watch. With a non cyclops sapphire crystal for a clean, uncluttered look. Fitted with a distressed leather strap that beautifully complements this vintage treasure.

This is the popular transitional model, an early sapphire crystal ref 16800, which follows the plastic crystal model 1680, and precedes the 16610 with modern style dial. This model features a sapphire crystal, a quick set date ref 3035 movement, and a tritium lume matte black dial with richly patina’d luminous dial indexes, hands, and elapsed time bezel pearl.

The transitional model offers the convenience and security of a more water resistant design, but retaining the popular vintage character of the early plastic crystal matte dial models. Includes service papers from Rolex Venezuela circa 2010.
