An extremely attractive example transitional model Rolex SS/14K YG “Rootbeer” GMT ref 16753 circa 1985. Featuring a fine condition probably unpolished case with beefy lugs, acrylic crystal, and with an especially bright and lively original “rootbeer” dial. This is one of the last of the nipple dial models for this reference before the introduction of the next generation dial with larger lume plots and gold surrounds.
The dial is in beautiful condition, with warmly patina’d tritium lumes and with original closely matching original tritium lume hands. With an aged 2 tone bronze and gold bezel insert with warm and gentle brown tones. Complete with a fine condition and very tight original 62523H SS/18K YG D link Jubilee bracelet with 450 endpieces and deployant clasp.
Powered by caliber 3075 movement with quick set date. Recently fully serviced by one of our veteran watchmakers and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
The current example is one of the prettiest and finest condition example vintage rootbeer GMTs we have owned in several years. The so called “Rootbeer” GMT has long been a favorite of collectors and vintage watch enthusiasts for its very retro 1970’s aesthetic and palette.
