A distinctive example “tropical dial” Rolex GMT II ref# 16760 “Fat Lady” complete with box and papers circa 1985. Featuring a remarkable mottled surface dial with black field with fine brown flecks throughout that resembles the appearance of brown granite. The original tritum lume plots have aged to a dark tan color, and the coke insert has similarly aged to a soft red and black. When acquired, the lume of the hands was especially dark and unattractive. We had the hands color matched using non UV light sensitive tritium material to perfectly match the dial lume plots. The overall tropical look of this Fat Lady is now is quite strong.
The case and lugs show expected wear from a 40 year old watch. We have left it unpolished as acquired. The watch retains its beefy lugs and is free of dings, dents, scratches, or corrosion. The watch is fitted with its original heavy Oyster 78360 bracelet with 501 endpieces which shows moderate loosening and surface scratches. The raised crown shows good detail and is not worn or polished down.
This fine example is powered by caliber 3085 self winding movement with independently set hour hand. The watch has been recently serviced, left unpolished, and tested for 3 bars water resistance.
The watch is guaranteed genuine and original as described here and is offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
