A very distinctive example Rolex GMT II ref# 16760 “Fat Lady” 9.3 million serial # circa 1986 with great condition original gloss black dial, without spider webbing, and with a very distinctive “ruby” red and faded black 24 hour bezel. A very pleasing example of the popular “coke bezel” GMT 2 with rich and unique vintage character.
With original Rolex heavy Oyster 78360 bracelet with 501 end pieces and deployment clasp with corresponding J10 date code. The original bracelet shows considerable wear and looseness, with expected scratches to the surfaces. The watch case is in much better condition with evident wear, but with still beefy lugs and unpolished.
The watch is in excellent mechanical condition, powered by caliber 3075 self winding movement with independently set hour hand. Recently fully serviced and pressure tested for water resistance. Guaranteed genuine and original and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
The GMT II “Fat Lady” ref 16760 so named due to it’s slightly thicker case, heavier crown guards and wide bezel. Introduced in 1983, it was the first GMT model with a sapphire crystal, was powered by the 3085 movement with independently set hour hand for ease of changing the hour without disrupting minutes or seconds, and was the first GMT to offer the black and red, soon to be nicknamed the “Coke” bezel.
