An early, rare, and fine condition Rolex “Ovetone” Datejust model ref 6305 serial # 971,xxx circa 1954 with original  dial with red printed “Datejust” and red print date wheel. Featuring 36mm diameter 18K yellow gold case with finely milled bezel, and acrylic dome crystal without magnifying cyclops. Original matte silver,  patinated dial with distinctive gold raised triangular indexes, original and untouched cream radium dots, tapered dauphine hands, with gilt date frame, and signed SWISS. Powered by self winding chronometer rated calibre 745 self winding movement with sweep seconds and date, and with original early + logo screw down crown.

This fine example is further distinguished by a historically interesting presentation engraving on case back dated 1954, indicating the watch was a 30 year presentation gift to an executive associated with the Arabian American Oil Company.
