The case back of this lovely watch bears the shallow engraving of the recipient of this stunning watch, Dave Steib, pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays MLB team, a 7 time All-Star, and in the season commemorated on this watch, had the league leading ERA, and led the Blue Jays to their first post season play ever against the Kansas City Royals. Dave is also tragically infamous for in the course of 5 years, pitching 4 no hitters into the 9^th inning, ultimately losing each of those games! He ultimately succeeded in achieving a no hitter in 1990!

The case back of this watch is engraved as follows: D. Steib, ’85 A.L ,E.R.A. 2.48 We cannot say for sure, but we can speculate that Dave was awarded this watch either by the Blue Jays or the American League for achieving the best E.R.A. in 1985.

In any event, today it is a stunning watch, ideal for daily or special wear, with an extremely popular bark finish, and unusual and striking dial, and some great baseball history “thrown in!”

Featuring a 36mm yellow gold case with factory bark bezel and matching factory bark Presidential bracelet. With sapphire crystal, and original linen texture dial with applied gold Roman indexes and tritium lume dial plots and hands. The fine texture of the linen dial really makes this watch “pop” on the wrist. The linen texture closely matches the bark texture of the bezel and center bracelet links and turns this watch into quite a showpiece. Must be seen in person to appreciate how good it looks!
