A very attractive vintage Rolex stainless steel Datejust ref 1600 with original “Rolex blue” dial and folded link Oyster bracelet. Featuring a 36mm diameter Oyster case serial # 2.8 million circa 1971 with smooth bezel, acrylic crystal and screw down Oyster crown. With an original blue T SWISS T dial with applied silver indexes with white enamel caps, contrasting white printing on the dial, and with intact warmly patina’d tritium lume dots, and original matching lume silver baton hands. The dial is in very good condition, and evidences some erosion of the paint so commonly seen on vintage blue dials of this era.

Powered by self winding caliber 1570 chronometer rated movement with non quick set date and sweep seconds. Fitted with very desirable period Rolex stainless steel folded link Oyster bracelet with deployment clasp. A clean and appealing classic vintage man’s model or oversized for a woman.

The 1600 reference is the least common of the Datejust references  this era and designate the smooth bezel on this model. By contrast, the 1601 features a white gold fluted bezel, while the 1603 features an engine turned steel bezel.
