A fine example Rolex 18K gold Datejust ref# 16018 circa 1988 with original deep blue “Jubilee” dial. Featuring a 36mm diameter case with fluted bezel and sapphire crystal. This is a very sharp condition case with beefy lugs and lovely and unusual ultramarine blue original dial with warmly patina’d and fully intact luminous plots and closely matching tritium lume gold baton hands. The pattern of the dial is referred to as a Jubilee dial and features the word ROLEX repeating in a shallow hologram pattern throughout. Note some minor fading of the blue color on the sloped date window and fine spotting on the hands.

Powered by self winding caliber 3035 movement with quick set date and sweep seconds. Shown with one of our dark blue genuine crocodile straps, or with your choice of sporty leather or alternative exotic skin strap.

This is a great looking solid gold full size man’s model of the era which offers a very sporty and upscale look for a man or oversized for a woman. NOTE: the 16018 gold Datejust is a bit of an anomaly among Datejusts of the era, as it is only the all gold model that came fitted with a sapphire crystal, The stainless steel 16000 and the 2 tone 16013 models of this era were fitted with the same quick set movement, but came with acrylic crystals, rather than the sapphire crystal supplied with the 16018.
