A unique example vintage Rolex 18K yellow gold Day Date President circa 1968 with aged “tropical” blue dial. Featuring a 36mm diameter full size man’s casel with acrylic crystal, 18K YG fluted bezel, and original blue distressed dial that has aged and patina’d. We know that vintage Rolex blue dials from the 1960’s and 1970’s are especially prone to deterioration, fading, and paint loss. This particular example is quite extreme in this respect, and renders this vintage gold Day Date model quite unusual and special.

The case of the watch is in excellent condition and shows expected, but not excessive wear or over polishing. The case back and case back grooves are clean and not chewed up and hallmark stamps are all deep and sharp. The lume plots on the dial are all intact, and have aged evenly, and closely match the tritium lume hands.

This model is powered by self winding calibre 1556 movement with non quick set date. The watch was recently fully serviced by one of our veteran watchmakers and is in excellent operating condition.
