A scarce and mint condition Rolex factory “Bark” Day Date 18K white gold President ref 18079 circa 1984. Featuring a 36mm full size man’s model with 18K WG bark bezel and sapphire crystal. This stunning model is fitted with its original factory silver satin diamond set dial with baton hands and warmly patina’d tritium lume plots and matching tritum lume hands.

This model is powered by self winding caliber 3055 movement with sweep seconds and quick set date. With original  super tight 18K white gold bark finish President bracelet with hidden deployment clasp.

This watch is in exceptionally sharp condition with super sharp lugs, unpolished bezel and tight bracelet with little stretch. Judging from the light patina (oxidation) to the gold surface, this watch has been sitting in a safe unworn for some time. We have not polished or brightened the patina, but can do so on request for the purchaser. The exceptional condition of this watch confirms that this was a well cared for, infrequently worn watch.

For many years, the bark finish did not receive a lot of love in the vintage and 2ndary Rolex market. Now with the popularity of textured surfaces on bracelets, bezels, and dials of models of the 70s and 80s, the bark presidents have taken on a renewed interest and appreciation. It is quite uncommon to find a white gold bark President, and this one is indeed a beauty!
