The color of the lapis is quite magnificent and all the more dramatic by its minimalist design without hour markets, just the PIAGET name printed in gold and offset by wide gold matchstick style hands.

This quartz movement was developed by a consortium of 20 Swiss watch brands, including Piaget, Omega, and Patek Philippe and first released in 1969. At the time, the technology dictated large movements which required  the production of oversized cases to accommodate the movements. In this case, the large size of the movement is a blessing as it resulted in this large, showy, sophisticated and impressive time piece.
