A scarce and great looking Omega SS Speedmaster automatic chronograph ref 176.0014 circa 1974. This is the first generation of this model affectionately referred to as “The TV Screen Model.” Featuring a large 40 x 45mm and 14mm deep cushion shaped case with integral bracelet. With first generation anthracite gray sunburst dial in excellent condition and with all original hands and lume. With nicely style raised rim bezel that surrounds and protects the flat cushion shaped mineral glass crystal.
This model features a day and date function with Portuguese language day wheel and is powered by caliber 1045 self winding movement with registers for hours, constant seconds, 24 hours, and with center minute recorder. With signed Omega crown, deeply die struck Seamonster case back logo, and with original excellent condition integral Omega bracelet with deployant clasp. The bracelet is tight and not stretched out, produced under contract for Omega by Hozzer Y Cia SA, and will fit a 7 1/2″ wrist. An especially pleasing uncommon 70’s era model in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition.
Note the original flat mineral glass crystal shows several scratches that are visible but do not impair viewing of the dial and are most evident only when reflected in the light. The bracelet is an especially heavy and robust design. The bracelet is especially tight with no looseness. The watch has been inspected to be in excellent operating condition. We are advised by our source that the watch had been serviced by Omega. We have no paper work to support this report.
