A beautiful condition and seldom seen Omega Seamaster 120 ref 166.073 stainless steel diver’s model circa 1969. Featuring a substantial sized cushion shaped 43 X 46mm case with wide rotating dark blue bakelite elapsed time bezel, acrylic crystal, and dark marine blue original dial with applied bold silver indexes, large tritium lume plots, and wide, kite shaped hands. While the dial is all original, the hands are luminova, not tritium, so we presume they are service replacement hands.
Powered by caliber 565 self winding movement with sweep seconds and date and signed screw down Omega crown. With Omega SS bracelet with deployment buckle.
This is the same model as owned by owner of Wanna Buy A Watch? and one of his favorite and most often worn vintage pieces. The watch has great style with well balanced size and proportions and simply great looks! The deep blue color can look almost black in low light, but make no mistake, it is a stunning deep blue, that is an ideal match for any shade of jeans.
You may be familiar with the popular Seamaster 300 diver’s model which predates this model, but we suspect you are way less familiar with this beauty. We have seen examples of this model with “built” from service replacement parts; service luminova bezel, service luminova dial, service luminova hands. They look great, built from new old stock service replacement parts post 1998, but they are not the original tritium model from the late 60’s offered here. The example here shows some corrosion on the hands surface, but there has been no restoration or repair of the original tritium lume, of the dial or the hands.
Recently serviced and left unpolished as acquired. Offered with our usual 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation, but no longer warranted for submersion.
Your purchase includes our popular fine Italian glazed leather watch pouch, great for travel and storage a $65.00 retail value.
