A striking and mint condition example modernist design steel Omega dress model circa 1973 complete with box and papers sold new in Rome! Featuring a 34 X 35mm horizontally configured low profile TV screen shaped case with a sophisticated and stylish design. Featuring a snap back case with gently sloping brushed finish bezel, contoured low crystal, and pop art dial. The superb condition dial is a gradient design taupe gray tone set off with raised angular silver plaques with orange enamel caps. The dial features the applied silver Omega logo, and reads Omega Deville and is signed SWISS MADE.
The watch appears to be in unworn condition complete with Omega box, original Omega signed tapered strap with stylized original Omega buckle. Includes original warranty papers from Rome retailer Orologeria dated 1973.
Powered by 17 jewel manual wind caliber 620 movement without seconds. With discreet signed Omega crown that sits almost concealed under the bezel. (Note, the small almost hidden crown makes it a bit of a challenge to wind the watch, but the feat can be accomplished with the motion of a single finger.)
The watch comes with the original tapered 70’s style Deville signed strap and eccentric buckle, but we have fitted the watch with a contemporary fine stitched complementary taupe leather strap without taper that gives the watch a better presence. Recently serviced and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate timekeeping and operation.
An unusual and terrific looking retro mid century design that is worthy of the Omega museum for Its futuristic design and splendid condition.
NOTE: The last 2 photos show an 18K YG cased version of this model we sold earlier this year.
