Very cool “retro” design vintage man’s gold filled Lord Elgin manual wind gold dress model with richly patina’d tropical dial and case back engraving dated 1953. Featuring a medium size 30 x 37.5mm snap back case with extended bowed lugs, and with a lovely textured waffle dial that has turned from antique white to a rich and variegated honey wheat color. The dial features applied gold indexes k with applied gold indexes, a recessed seconds bit, and tapered alpha hands.
Powered by 21 jewel manual wind Lord Elgin movement with subsidiary seconds Recently fully serviced and guaranteed and offered with your choice of sporty style strap.
In addition to its vintage charm, this model also bears a hand engraved presentation to the owner. The engraving reads, “PRO PAINT” $10,000 CLUB, JJ PAUL 1953. While a sales award, and perhaps not overly sentimental, the lovely hand engraving still adds interest and charm to this fine vintage watch.
All in all, a good looking vintage model with great character and a story to tell.
