A pleasing example vintage Longines Weems stainless steel aviator’s watch produced in civilian and U.S. military versions in the 1940’s. Featuring a medium size 28 x 36mm case with wide elapsed time 60 minute bezel secured by an adjustable lock screw at 2 0’clock. With original matte silver dial with printed arabic font figures and blued steel leaf style hands. Powered by 17 jewel manual wind Longines caliber 10L (10.68N) movement with oversize sweep seconds hand that extends to an outer detailed seconds track.
Recently serviced and left unpolished as acquired. Of course guaranteed genuine and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation. Shown on khaki color canvas 1 piece strap.
The medium size Weems model is the most well known of the various size and configurations of WWII era aviation watches designed by or in conjunction with iconic Atlantic solo crossing aviator Charles Lindbergh. Presumably a civilian model due to absence of luminous, as well as the absence of any military designation.
