Longines stainless steel Conquest Calendar automatic circa 1959. Featuring a robust 35mm diameter case with wide bezel and heavy rounded lugs, heavy screw down case back with gold fish logo, acrylic crystal, and with absolutely stunning original 2 tone dial. We have long been fans of the Conquest, Lifeguard, All Guard series of Longines waterproof dress models, a less known rival to the Omega Constellations of the era, but typically featuring a more rugged and robust case design than the Constellations, and invariably with oversized stylized arrowhead markers and hands as in the current example.
That said, we think the current example may be the prettiest and most striking example we have ever owned. Featuring a 2 tone matte silver dial with gold applied geometric markers highlighted by a wide silver satin band, prominent gold tapered hands and a domed crystal with a subtle gold crystal ring all contribute to a dial appearance that is unrivaled in a sporty style dress watch.
The dial features the applied winged hour glass Longines logo, and features in a very classy looking script font, Automatic and Conquest Calender. Additionally the location of the date wheel on this 19 ASD movement, inset at the 3 0’clock position rather than closer to the perimeter or replacing the 3 o’clock index adds yet another detail of style and design to this stunning piece. This example also comes with the original, very distinctive signed Longines crown with a rounded tip and distinctive beads that are both functional for gripping the crown, and which add another layer to the fine aesthetic and attention to detail of this model.
Recently fully serviced and lightly detailed. Note, the original green enamel typically located on the case back recessed logo is no longer present. This stunning watch is offered on your choice of fine leather 17mm strap. Of course guaranteed genuine and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
Your purchase includes our signature fine leather watch pouch, ideal for travel and storage, a $65.00 retail value.
