A magnificent 14K YG art deco design dramatically stepped curvex case design known as the coronation model, produced and made available to the public in honor of the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in Westminster Abbey on May 12, 1937. Longines reportedly produced and gifted the King and Queen coronation wrist and pocket watches, and then later offered the same commemorative models to the public. The current example prominently features the English crown centered on the dial below Longines.
The case is a classic 23 x 39mm stepped design both on the sides of the case and above and below. The case is in especially sharp condition, with no dings, or significant wear or any case back engraving. This is an American made case as the watch was made for the U.S. market.
