A scarce, oversized Jaeger Lecoultre automatic alarm model circa 1970’s with a tropical dial. Featuring a slab shaped 38 x 46mm x 7mm thick stainless steel case with bead blasted finish. With original blue dial, now fading, and white chapter ring for setting the alarm. Particularly in the center of the dial, the blue color has aged and turned an attractive tannish brown color.
The case features a brushed, or bead blasted finish, and is fitted with a scarce original flush fit JL signed NSA bracelet that will fit a 7 1/4- 7 1/2″ wrist. Powered by self winding caliber 916 movement with alarm function, sweep seconds and date as well as the signed JL crowns.
Recently serviced and in excellent operating condition. Guaranteed genuine and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
As you may know, we are big fans of the 1970’s era JLC alarms with modernist design cases and colorful dial configurations. We have not previously seen this model with a blue dial, nor with the original NSA bracelet which completes the chunky, brutalist design, and makes this large and thick watch very wearable. The so called tropical dial adds another layer of vintage character and appeal.
