A scarce and magnificent condition example Vintage IWC 18K YG Ingenieur ref 666 A circa 1963.
Featuring a substantial 37mm diameter case with wide sloped bezel and thick, down turned 45mm lugs. The case is 12mm deep with screw down case back and is in remarkable, unpolished condition. Featuring a stunning original matte silver dial with applied faceted gold indexes and gold dauphne hands. The dial is the rare version produced with the printed lume outlines at each hour, but without luminous ever applied to the dial or to the hands.
Powered by caliber C-8531 self winding movment with sweep seconds and date. With lead dust cover to protect the movement from magnetic fields. With original fish logo crown, and possibly later signed IWC strap and plaque IWC tang buckle.
This is a magnificent, and dare we say “important” watch that has been in a collection perhaps for decades. We have never owned such an example which is without a doubt worth of any collection or museum.
Recently fully serviced, left in original as acquired superb condition. Of course guaranteed genuine and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
NOTE: Like the Rolex Milgauss, the Ingenieur models have movement protected with brass surrounds that insulate the movement against magnetic fields. The Ingenieur models have a large and devoted following and are among the most sought after of all IWC models.
