Unusual, colorful, and very mint condition with original bracelet, Heuer ref 279.603 Solunar model. Introduced in 1976 as a tool for fisherman which allows for measuring high and low tide over a two week period. Featuring a large 45mm diameter case with wide brushed aluminum outer bezel, inner black and white disk for measurement over a 2 week period. Powered by self winding caliber ETA 2790-1 movement with sweep seconds and day and date feature. In overall exceptional condition with very minty case, rich saturated colors, and nicely patina’d luminous indexes and hands. With original NSA style bracelet with a stretch clasp on the 12 o’clock side of Heuer signed deployment. A rarely seen, but striking, large, and colorful model, even if you’re not going fishing!
This very example was chosen for the TAG Heuer “Globetrotter Event” in Miami, FL earlier this year. It was chosen for being the very best example of this model, and was joined at that event by the very best of other vintage Heuer models, like the Carrera and Autavia, as well. Because of its participation, we received a large box containing various Heuer memorabilia, that we are including in the sale of this already spectacular watch. You can see the many items as well as a letter of acknowledgment all that is included in the images. Includes large box, Heuer chronograph cloth patch, large cloth Heuer banner inside of mesh pouch, booklet, and letter.
