A scarce and especially fine condition Hamilton “Contour” model. Featuring a great condition 14K gold filled curved back case with hinged lugs case designed to fit on the edge of the wrist as a driver’s watch, as well as worn conventionally.
Introduced into the Hamilton line of fine American made wristwatches in 1938, the contour joined the Gruen driver’s models of the era as well as Hamilton’s own asymmetrical and sloped design Brooke model.
The current example features a fine condition case with no brassing, with secure folding lugs that move freely and are not worn or sloppy. Powered by Hamilton caliber 980 manual wind movement. Like all Hamilton models of the era, the quality is paramount. Sterling silver (not brass) dial, 18K gold applied Breguet style figures (not embossed or plated) and 14K gold filled (not 12K or 10K or RGP) case.
Recently fully serviced and in excellent operating condition. Fitted with a complementary fine leather vegetable dyed strap for a rich and fashionable look. Includes a period Hamilton signed gold filled buckle as photo’d.
Your purchase includes our signature fine leather watch pouch, ideal for travel and storage, a $65.00 retail value.
